Boletus dupainii Boud.

Fruit body: cap up to 12 cm, rounded then expanded, smooth, shiny, in shades of red as tomato. Tubes are yellow, then olive-green, blueing when touched; pores orange then red, orange-yellow towards margin, slowly blueing when touched. Stem is up to 10x5 cm, club shaped, yellow, covered with red reticulum on top, towards base more densily sprinkled with red.

Microscopy: spores subfusiform, 10-15x4-6 μm, bright yellow under microscope.

Flesh: bright yellow, blueing when bruised, without distinct smell and taste.

Habitat: thermophile fungus; under deciduous woods on calcareous terrains, mostly under chestnut (Castanea) and oak (Quercus). Rare.

Edibility: inedible, probably even poisonous.
