Boletus regius Krombh.

Fruit body: cap up to 20 cm, fleshy, rounded then expanded, dry, slightly wrinkled, pinkish-red. Tubes are long, yellow, unchanging; pores are small, yellow, later slightly olive, unchanging colour when touched. Stem is up to 12x6 cm, bright yellow, covered with same colour reticulum, at base sometimes sprinkled with purple-brown hues.

Microscopy: spores subfusiform, 12-16x4-5 μm, individually bright yellow, brown-olive en masse.

Flesh: hard, bright yellow, cap unchanging or slightly turning blue when cut, at stem base slightly purple, without distinct smell and taste.

Habitat: season summer and autumn on sunny deciduous woods on acidic terrains.

Edibility: edible.
