Hygrocybe punicea (Fr.) P. Kumm.

Fruit body: cap up to 12 cm, conical then expanded, sticky in wet weather, dark red. Gills are almost free, swollen in middle, in shades of yellow and orange. Stem is up to 12x3 cm, fibrous and dry, pointed at base, orange, with more or less red fibers.

Microscopy: spores oblong to ellipsoid, 8—11x5—6 μm.

Flesh: yellow, stem centre white, without distinct smell and taste.

Habitat: mountainous pastures on calcareous terrains. Rare.

Edibility: edible.
