DOG STINKHORN

Fruit body: at first egg shaped up to 3.5 cm wide, whitish, with visible rhizoids in base. Endoperidium is gelatinous. In maturity from egg emerges curved stem (up to 10x1 cm) with pointed orange head, which is quickly covered with slimy mass full of spores dark olive coloured ans with and unpleasant smell.

Microscopy: spores ellipsoid, smooth, 4-5x1.5-2.5 μm.

Habitat: in various woods and parks, usually on acidic terrains.

Edibility: inedible.
